Iron Pass is a privacy-first password manager that stores all data locally on the user’s device/devices. We do not require or maintain any cloud-based accounts, and no data is collected or stored on our servers.
1. Local-Only Data Storage
- All user data, including saved passwords, settings, and app preferences, is stored locally on the user’s device or browser extension.
- Iron Pass does not store or transmit any of this data to external servers.
- Because of this design, deletion and management of your data are entirely under your control.
2. Deleting Your Account and Data
To delete your data and account from Iron Pass:
- From Mobile App:
- Delete all saved entries using the in-app delete function.
- Or simply uninstall the app. This will permanently erase all data from the device.
- From Chrome Extension:
- Data synced for autofill is temporary and auto-deletes after a few minutes. No manual action is needed unless autofill fails.
- Important: Repeat this process on each device where Iron Pass is installed. Data is not synced or shared across devices unless you use the local backup/import feature.
3. Backing Up Before Deletion
- If you wish to retain your data before deleting the app, use the backup feature available in the app settings. The backup is encrypted and remains under your control.
- Make sure to store it securely as we cannot access, retrieve, or recover deleted information.
4. Final Notes
- There are no user accounts tied to any server infrastructure.
- Deletion is complete and irreversible once you remove the app or clear app data.
