Introduction
3 Things (“the App”) is a productivity and mindfulness tool that helps users manage tasks and optionally reflect on their mood through a daily check-in feature. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your information is collected and used. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide and improve the App:
- Account Information: Email address and username, collected via Firebase Authentication for login and account management.
- User-Generated Data: To-dos, mind dumps, timers, notes, and optional daily check-in entries (mood and notes).
- Usage Data: Anonymized interactions (e.g., creating a task or completing a check-in) to help improve functionality.
- Analytics Data: Aggregated, anonymized data used to enhance performance and user experience.
- Device Information: Non-personal data such as device type, operating system, and app version to ensure compatibility.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to:
- Deliver core features of the App, including task management and daily check-ins
- Improve the App’s usability and performance through anonymized analytics
- Communicate updates, features, or provide support via email
- Maintain technical compatibility and security
3. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on servers located in the United States. We use industry-standard encryption at rest and during transmission (HTTPS). Access to your data is limited to you and protected against unauthorized access.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except when required by law or with your explicit consent.
5. Daily Check-In Feature
The daily check-in feature is optional and allows users to log their mood and brief notes each day. Participation requires explicit consent during onboarding. You may withdraw consent at any time from within the app settings. To remove all previously collected check-in data, you may delete your account via the app.
6. Your Rights and Data Control
You have full control over your data and can:
- Export your data at any time in CSV format via the app’s settings
- Correct any errors by contacting our support team
- Delete your account at any time via the app settings
When you delete your account:
- All user-generated content (to-dos, mind dumps, timers, notes, and daily check-ins) is permanently deleted immediately
- Only account-related data (such as subscription status and minimal metadata) may be retained for up to 3 months or until the end of any active subscription, whichever comes later, for administrative and legal purposes
7. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate essential parts of the App:
- Firebase Authentication for secure login
- Cloud infrastructure and analytics tools for hosting and app improvement
Each provider follows its own privacy practices and is chosen based on compliance with industry standards.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If such data is identified, we will delete it promptly.
9. Regional Availability
The App is intended for users outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. It is not marketed, distributed, or supported in those regions.
