1. Introduction
3 Things (“the App”) is a productivity and mindfulness tool designed to help users manage daily tasks, track moods, and declutter thoughts. We prioritize your privacy and believe your data should stay in your hands. This policy outlines what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
2. What Data We Collect
The App is designed to work fully without requiring an account, and most data is stored locally on your device.
We collect only minimal data necessary to operate, improve, and support the App:
a. Local-Only User Data (Stored on Your Device)
- To-dos, mind dumps, notes, daily mood check-ins
- No cloud storage by default
b. Optional Account Data
- Email address and authentication token, only if you choose to create an account for subscriptions or future sync features (via Firebase Authentication)
c. Analytics & Crash Reports
- Crash reports to detect bugs and improve stability
- We do not track personally identifiable information
d. Advertising Data
- Ads may be shown via third-party providers like Google AdMob
- These providers may collect device identifiers (e.g., IP address, ad ID) to serve and optimize ads
3. How We Use Your Data
We use collected data to:
- Deliver core functionality and support user experience
- Improve app performance and fix bugs
- Support optional features such as subscriptions
- Display non-intrusive ads unless removed via subscription
4. Data Storage and Security
- User-generated content is stored locally on your device and not transmitted unless syncing is enabled in future versions
- If you create an account, account-related data is securely stored on our online servers.
- All transmissions use HTTPS encryption
5. Subscriptions and Sync (Optional)
- Creating an account is optional, only required for:
- Removing ads via subscription
- Using future cross-device sync (currently under development)
- Without an account, all features except subscription and sync are available
6. Your Rights and Control
You can:
- Export your data anytime via Settings > Export (In development at the moment)
- Use the app fully without logging in
- Delete local data by uninstalling the app
- If logged in, delete your account from within the app
If you delete your account:
- All cloud-based account data is permanently deleted
- We may retain minimal metadata (e.g., subscription info) for up to 3 months or the end of billing as required by law
7. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services:
- Firebase Authentication – for optional account login
- Google AdMob – for serving ads
- Crashlytics & Analytics – for stability and feature improvement
Each service complies with industry privacy standards and has its own privacy policy.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from users under 13. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.
9. Regional Availability
The App is intended for users outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. It is not marketed, distributed, or supported in those regions.
